On May 6th 2011 I received the terrible call from Adam's wife Gill, to tell me the awful news that Adam had had a bad seizure in the night, and sadly had passed away. This was a terrible shock to everyone who knew Adam, and has left an indellible mark on everyone.

Ten days later I had the enormous privilege of giving the eulogy at Adam's funeral, possibly both the hardest and the proudest thing anyone can ever do for a friend. My presiding memory of Adam's funeral wasn't of the sadness everyone felt for their loss, but of the church being packed to standing room only, and of everyone's happy memories of Adam, and of what a truly great guy he was with an outstanding sense of humour and the innapropriate.

Ever since I've been determined to do something in Adam's memory, and to help raise funds for Epilepsy Action so they can investigate any ways to cure or better manage this terrible condition, and to support those affected by it.

So, on 24th September I will be running the Berlin BMW marathon. As some of you might know, my own health this year hasn't exactly been plain sailing, and so this will be a much greater test of my metal than it was intended to be when I signed up to run for Epilepsy Action. However, even if I have to crawl the last few miles, I'm determined I will cross the finish line, and have Adam in mind as I do so!

Please give generously, and help me not just meet my fund raising goal, but well and truly smash it.

Thank You for your support and generosity.

Wayne
